Kids with Food Allergies (KFA)\u2014 the food allergy division of AAFA\u2014is proud to support No Appetite for Bullying<\/em><\/a>, <\/em>a campaign to raise awareness about food allergy bullying.<\/p>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=”Page Content” module_class=”secondary-intro” _builder_version=”4.18.0″ _module_preset=”default” text_text_color=”#505050″ text_line_height=”1.5em” header_2_font=”|600|||||||” header_2_text_color=”#008c99″ header_2_font_size=”39px” custom_margin=”||3%||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n Bullying is never acceptable, but food allergy bullying\u2014which happens when children and teens living with life-threatening allergies are teased, ridiculed or even threatened or assaulted with food to which they are allergic\u2014is especially dangerous. On the surface, when someone waves an unsafe food in the face of a student with a food allergy, it may seem like just another form of childhood teasing. But to that food-allergic child, incidents like this can make school feel unsafe and escalate from emotional to physical bullying. We want to clearly convey the potential seriousness of food allergies and create a movement that encourages children with food allergies, along with parents, teachers, and peers, to be a voice against food allergy bullying.<\/p>\n No Appetite for Bullying<\/em> will include a teen coalition to bring together students between the ages of 13 and 17 to share experiences, provide support, and discuss solutions to help end food allergy bullying.
